This is the 2nd time the Dubai based carries has received this ban, last time was from January 9th to 22nd. There are many reasons why an operator can receive this ban, normally it is because either too many arriving passengers tested positive for COVID-19 on arrival in Hong Kong, or some passengers doesn’t have the required paperwork for the pre-departure testing or similar.
It is worth noting that Emirates will still be operating the flight which operates the route Dubai – Bangkok – Hong Kong – Bangkok – Dubai, and it is only affecting passengers arriving in Hong Kong. You can still do any of the other legs on the flight if you are so booked.
