Review – Cathay Pacific Airbus A333, business class, Hong Kong to Bangkok, January 2025.

This was part of a 6 days trip I made to Bangkok in January 2025 to visit my parents, who would be flying on to Bangkok the next day. I booked this flight a couple of days in advance, and paid 28.000 Asia Miles for it, plus a small amount (around 500 HKD I believe?) in taxes. I was happy to see that the flight had a 1-2-1 reverse herring bone set-up, which meant lie-flat seats, and not the regional business class that Cathay offers on many flights.

Review – Hong Kong Express Airbus A320 Hong Kong – Clark, Philippines, May 2025.

This is my most traveled route, I normally fly betweeen Hong Kong and Clark 3 times per month, as my family lives there. Cebu Pacific has two daily flights, and Hong Kong Express has one, and genrally speaking, Cebus flight schedule suits me to most, but this time I had to fly in the afternoon, so I decided to go with HK Express instead.

Quick Review – Hong Kong Express – Hong Kong – Saipan – Hong Kong, 2019.

This is something that has been pendig for a very long time, but for some reason or another I have never gotten around to completing this trip report series. Time to change that, hoping to get it all done in May, so I can move on to the next one.

Saving my memories – trying 1st class on Etihad A380 in 2015.

This is a trip I did in 2015, long before I thought about any kind of blogging or similar, so this post is just to preserve my own memories and photos. Photos are all low quality, taken by my cellphone at the time, so feel free to skip this post unless you have any special interest in me or my travels 😀

Quick Review – Hong Kong Express Airbus A320- Hong Kong – Da Nang – Hong Kong, September 2023

HK Express is the low cost operator of Cathay Pacific, and based out of Hong Kong. They operate a fleet of A320-family aircraft, and all their routes are short or medium-short haul (I believe 4.5 hours is the longest.) This quick review is a part of my 3 day getaway to Da Nang in September 2023, which you can read about here.

48 hours in Da Nang, Vietnam, September 2023

This was my 4th time visiting Vietnam, and first time visiting Da Nang. I spent most of 2023 traveling to the Philippines to see my family there, but a couple of times I was not able to find suitable tickets on my days off to go there, so I had a few chances to explore other destinations instead. This trip gave me 48 hours to explore Da Nang, Vietnam, a place I didn’t know much about before I went there, but I was very pleasantly surprised!

2024 – a year of travel in review.

2024 was a year when travel around the world finally was hassle-free again, and a lot of old routes and frequencies were re-installed. Traffic volume at HKIA was also steadily recovering, and there were lot of options for traveling. However, I still wasn’t able to complete a lot of my travel goals, so hopefully I will be better at it this coming year, but probably not.

Review – Emirates Boeing 777ER Oslo – Dubai business class

With the Radisson Blu just across the street from the terminal it was a quick walk to the terminal, and another 5 minutes walk to the check-in area as it was (of course) located at the far end of the terminal. Check-in itself was quick, and we just narrowly managed to put our jackets and winter shoes in the suitcases before they were sent off. From here we had fast-track for security (which I found to be the rudest I have encountered in my travels so far), and then we had time for a quick drink at Starbucks before heading to immigration. Oslo Airport is apparently not built for international travels, and the line at immigration was huge, it probably took us 90 minutes to get through – I am glad we were early for our flight!

Review – Cathay Pacific Airbus A35K Manila – Hong Kong Business Class

This was a trip I had to make because I had business to take care of in Manila, so I had flown in to Manila with Cebu Pacific, and for the return flight I used my Qmiles (from Qatar Airways) to book a flight with Cathay Pacific from Manila to Hong Kong.

Review – Air Asia A320 Bangkok Don Muang – Hong Kong

Boarding was about 30 minutes delayed, and the gate area was very crowded, but again I was offered the priority boarding, as I had paid for a priority seat (emergency exit).
