HK Express announces the extension of its temporary flight operations suspension to 11 July 2020, in response to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic and travel restrictions imposed by governments around Asia Pacific. The airline plans to gradually resume flight operations on 12 July 2020, subject to market developments. Schedule adjustments will be made to the network for flights departing from 12 July 2020. Customers are advised to visit HK Express’ official website (https://www.hkexpress.com/en-hk/your-trips/important-travel-notice/) for the latest updates.
HK Express will continue to provide flexibility to customers whose travel plans have been affected, or those who are booked on flights departing on or before 31 July 2020. Customers can opt to change their travel date, travel route, refund in the form of credit vouchers or cash. Additional information is available on HK Express’ official website.
Cathay Pacific slowly resumes flights
At the end of March 2020 Cathay announced they were reducing their passenger flight schedule by 96% over the next couple of months. This has been extended, but now they are slowly getting ready to resume flights again.

As I wrote about earlier, Cathay Pacific are canceling all flights to Japan effective March 9th and 13th until March 28th.
I have taken a look at Hong Kong Express booking website, and based on the unavailability of flights it seems like they are also canceling all flights between Hong Kong and Japan until March 31st – at least you cannot book any tickets to Japan during this period, so it seems they are all canceled as well – making it very hard to travel between Hong Kong and Japan for those who might be on holiday either place and want to go home…

After two days of unprecedented interruptions to air traffic, demonstration and violence at the airport in Hong Kong, the traffic is today resuming normal operations.
