History was made yesterday as HK Express successfully launched its first-ever flight from Hong Kong to Kuala Lumpur’s Subang Airport (SZB). Flight UO716 took off from Hong Kong International Airport at 4:35 PM and landed smoothly in Subang at 8:30 PM, marking a new chapter in affordable, city-to-city travel between Hong Kong and Malaysia.

🛬 A Welcome Fit for a First

The inaugural flight was greeted with a water cannon salute and a cheerful gate celebration in Subang, with local aviation staff, media, and travel enthusiasts snapping photos and welcoming passengers. This wasn’t just another new route — it was a revival of Subang Airport’s international passenger services, dormant for years until now.

The return flight, UO717, departed that same evening and touched down in Hong Kong at 1:35 AM — right on schedule.

🌆 Why Subang Is a Game-Changer

What makes this route so special isn’t just that it’s HK Express’s second destination in Malaysia (after Penang). It’s that this is now the only direct scheduled passenger flight between Hong Kong and Subang Airport, located just 25 minutes from central Kuala Lumpur.
