I read in South China Morning Post yesterday that there are now talks about opening up for quarantine-free traveling between Hong Kong and Macau as soon as this month possibly (although I doubt it), but I thought anyways it was time to finish my last hotel review from Macau from 2020.

Air Traffic Statistics at Hong Kong August 2020

As always this year, numbers are down big time compared with same month last year.

2020 is coming to an end, and this blog has been dead for a couple of months at least.
I started this blog a couple of years ago, as just a personal travel blog, due to my love and passion of traveling. I had also recently relocated to Hong Kong, and working at the airport I have both a personal and professional interest in the development and expansion of aviation in Hong Kong, and I wanted to document the progress of expanding to the 3rd runway. Also, living in Hong Kong opened up so many new destinations within just a couple of hours of travelling, so I was so excited to travel so many places.
Keep on reading!A day out with the Government Flying Services (GFS).
As part of my job at Hong Kong International Airport I was invited to join the GFS for a day of flying as a passenger to see how they operate, what help they need from us air traffic controllers, and to learn more about how we can work even better together than we are now. This was the 2nd time I was invited to spend a day with the GFS, and this time I was lucky enough to be invited for a familiarization flight both in the Challenger 600 and a Airbus Helicopter H175 (EC75). Date of flight was June 16, 2020.

Boarding was already starting when I arrived at the gate, and as the flight was no more than 30% full there was no queue for boarding, so I was able to proceed directly to my seat.
When I did the online check-in one day before departure, I was more interested in finding an empty part of the cabin, so I assigned myself seat 72A if I remember correctly, almost in the rear of the plane. From experience I like the seats in this area of the airplane, the fuselage is starting to narrow here, and the seat configuration goes from 2-4-2 to 2-3-2, so there is more space between the seats, and as the fuselage is not straight here, the seats are places a bit further from the windows, so the A-seats have more space than in the rest of the plane.

Review, Oman Air Business and First Class lounge, Bangkok Suvarnabhumi
Check-in and Immigration was quick and efficient at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport, and after security was cleared I headed towards my gate with about 90 minutes spare before boarding was supposed to be starting.
I am a MasterCard LoungeKey member, and I was surprised to see that they had several lounges around Bangkok airport, normally my experience is that they are sharing Priority Pass lounges, but here they were using several different airline lounges.

I last visited Pattaya in 2008 or 2009, and at the time I felt it was mostly a dump, and had no plans of ever visiting it again. But after a few of my colleagues had told me that it was quite nice nowadays and with a lot of things to do for kids, I thought I would give it another shot, and also have a look at it for a possible vacation spot with my kids?
