2024 – a year of travel in review.

2024 was a year when travel around the world finally was hassle-free again, and a lot of old routes and frequencies were re-installed. Traffic volume at HKIA was also steadily recovering, and there were lot of options for traveling. However, I still wasn’t able to complete a lot of my travel goals, so hopefully I will be better at it this coming year, but probably not.

Although most of my travels in 2024 was to go and see my family in the Philippines, I was able to see a couple of other places as well, and try some new hotels and other things.

  • Some flight statistics:
    • Flights taken: 54
    • Miles flown: 36.645
    • Hours flown: 119:45
    • Most popular route: Clark to Hong Kong (24 times)
    • Most used Airline: Cebu Pacific – 50 flights
    • Top Airport: Hong Kong – 52 times used
Flying Emirates Airbus A380 in business is always a nice experience.

Since most of my flights were on Cebu Pacific, I was not able to achieve any status with any airline, and there were very few flights worth re-viewing, but I think there were 2 or 3 that are still pending: Emirates A388 in business class Bangkok to Hong Kong, Hong Kong Express between Hong Kong and Da Nang, and probably some general pictures of Cebu Pacific.

As for hotels, I was able to achieve a lot more – as I was living the whole year at the 4 Points by Sheraton in Tung Chung, I for the first time achieved Ambassador Status with Marriott Bonvoy.

  • Some hotel reviews:
    • Marriott Resort and Spa, Da Nang, Vietnam
    • Marriott Resort Hua Hin, Thailand (2nd time staying there)
    • W Macau Studio City – Cotai, Macau
    • Manila Marriott Hotel
    • Bangkok Marriott Hotel Sukhumvit, Bangkok, Thailand
    • Villa Alfredos Resort, San Fernando, Pampanga, Philippines
  • Lounge Reviews:
    • Emirates Business Class lounge Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport

Overall maybe not the most exciting year of travel, but I did see a bit and experienced a lot, Overall happy with the year, but hoping for more time off next year to be able to see and experience a lot more.
