It has now been about a year since I had the energy to make a post on this blog. The point of this blog was to be a happy place where I saved my travel memories and documented the growth of air traffic in Hong Kong while I was working and living here.
As we all know, travel has been more or less dead in Hong Kong for the last 2 years due to Covid-19, and there has been little to no traveling done by me in this period, and all the aviation news has been sad news. Therefore it has not ben fun to document this, and the will to keep this blog updated has fallen away.
However, now that most of the rest of the world is open again, I am hopeful that traffic in Hong Kong will slowly increase back to where it used to be. Also, there is hope that the borders might open up more in the next couple of months, in which case traffic and traveling will resume to old levels very quickly I hope. We can already see some operators slowly returning to Hong Kong, and Cathay Pacific are re-starting more routes and adding more frequency, so I will make an effort to update on this as well, in addition to keeping an eye on the monthly statistics of the traffic at HKIA.
Another airport that is close to my heart is Clark International Airport in Angeles City, Philippines. They are also undergoing a lot of expansions right now and looking at becoming a major national and international hub, so I will try to keep updates on that as well on this blog, as I (used to be) a very frequent user of this airport, and I am very excited to see what destinations and operators will be added there in the near future.
