Today it was finally announced that quarantine for arriving passengers to Hong Kong is ending, effective September 26, 2022. It has been about 2.5 years with travel restrictions in the city, and now we are getting as close to normal as we have been for a very long time.
From September 26 the new arrangement will be a so-called “0+3”, which means no hotel quarantine, but 3 days of medical surveillance. Travelers can go directly to their homes or hotel after arriving in Hong Kong, but cannot enter any establishment that requires a vaccine pass (for example restaurants, bars, swimming pools and so on).
Also the pre-departure PCR test has been removed, and replaces with a RAT test to be taken within 24 hours of departure. It has not been clarified yet is this need to be a supervised one, or if you can do it on your own, like you do in Hong Kong now with the daily tests during the self-monitoring period.
