To the surprise of nobody the traffic numbers at Hong Kong International Airport are stable low in the month of July 2020 as well. As always, the numbers are compared to the month one year previous, so those numbers are in comparison to July 2019.
- The passenger numbers are down 98.6% from 6.729.000 to 96.000 – I think this is quite a bit of an increase from the month before?
- The numbers of tonnes of cargo handled is down 7.3% from 401.000 to 372.000
- The number of aircraft movements are down 73.2% from 36.853 to 9.870. Passenger flights were down 88.3%, whereas cargo flights were up 21%. Non-revenus was down 52.6%.
So overall no surprises here, numbers are slightly up from last month I believe, but not by much. Increase of cargo flights is of course due to the lack of passenger airplanes who would also bring some of the cargo, so therefore there is a higher demand for cargo planes.
