Emirates resumed today daily Airbus A380 flights between Dubai and Hong Kong (via Bangkok.) This service was suspended probably about a year ago, not too long after the COVID-19 outbreak. Emirates is now the first operator to resume regular A380 flights to Hong Kong.
The A380 will be operated daily from Dubai on EK384, departing Dubai at 02:50, landing in Bangkok at 12:15, before continuing on to Hong Kong at 14:15, arriving at 18:20. The return flight on EK385 will depart Hong Kong at 21:30, arriving in Bangkok at 23:45, before continuing on to Dubai at 01:45 and landing in Dubai at 05:15.
The A380 offers 14 first class suites, 76 business class seats and 429 economy class seats.
The A380 used to be a regular sighting at Hong Kong airport, as in addition to Emirates also Lufthansa, British Airways, Singapore Airlines, Korean Air, Asiana, Qantas and Thai all used to operate them into the airport, but neither of those do any more. Hopefully this is an indication that international aviation is slowly recovering, and hopefully we will see more operators resuming those flights soon.
