Quick re-cap – living at the Cordis hotel Hong Kong

As part of my covid-restriction and reaction I was living in hotels from January 2022 onwards, and one of the hotels I stayed at was the Cordis Hotel in Mong Kok, Hong Kong. Living in a hotel is very different from being a short term guest, and as such I will not make a review, but rather post a few pictures for my own memories only.

  • Date of Stay: November 2022 – February 2023
  • Price: HKD 625 per night
  • Room: on the 31st floor
  • Breakfast not included. (I think i got vouchers for 10 free breakfasts)

At the tine of moving to the Cordis I was originally living at the Sheraton in TST, but as the prices there were increasing quite significantly I decided to move somewhere else, and the Cordis was offering some very good rates for long term stay at 625 HKD net per night for one of their superior rooms. Cirdis is unfortunately not a member of the Bonvoy program, and they were not willing to include breakfast in the deal, so this stay was for room only.

I was at check-in given a room on the 31st floor with a very nice view, and the room had a large king size bed, a microwave for long term guests, a nespresso machine and a very nice bathroom with both a bathtub and a separate shower.

The bed, with a view to the bathroom.
My room faced to the west, view looking over Kowloon
Further to the left I also had partial harbour view, and could see tne ICC, IFC and Victoria Peak
One of few hotels I’ve been at that offerd a microwave, great to have for long term stays
Also a bottle of wine and some fresh fruits were waiting for me when I arrived.

Overall my stay at the Cordis was very nice, it was definitely a 5 star hotel, and also had a nice gym and a rooftop swimming pool (which it was too cold to use while I stayed there).

After a few days I asked for an extra table for my laptop, and I made myself a nice set-up in front of the window.

A laptop table with a view.

The staff was excellent, and having a walking bridge that connected the hotel to the Langham Palace and Mong Kok MTR was great, so no need to go outdoors unless you wanted to. Only thing I didn’t like (other than no breakfast included) was that the area is one of the most densly populated places on Earth, and there were just too many people around. (There are around 130.000 people per square kilometre as of 2022).
