Hong Kong Airlines to cancel inflight service

Hong Kong Airlines A359

Hong Kong Airlines has announced that they will effective today cancel inflight service on their flights.

According to the airline it is ” To further strengthen our precautionary measures and reduce the risk of our crew and customers from being potentially exposed to coronavirus, Hong Kong Airlines will be limiting inflight cabin activity and making temporary adjustments to our onboard services. “

The services affected is as follows:

1. Duvets/blankets and pillows will not be offered.

2. Magazine choice will not be provided except for newspapers and reading materials inside the seat pocket.

3. Inflight catering service will be limited to a bottle of water for Business Class passengers and a cuplet of water for Economy Class passengers from 19 February 2020.

I guess no further comment is needed from me, although I would say that I would not be impressed if I paid for a business class ticket and only got one bottle of water with no other service for the rest of the flight….
