Taiwan-based airline Starlux has announced that they plan to start a twice-daily service between Taipei and Hong Kong, starting on July 16th, 2024.
Starlux plan to operate the route with a mix of their fleet, using the Airbus A321, Airbus 339 and Airbus 359. For now the morning flight will be operated by the Airbus A359, whereas the evening flight will be operated by a mix of all 3 aircrafts, depending on which day of the week it is.
The route will be from Taipei to Hong Kong with a departure at 08:00 arriving at 09:40, or 16:40 arriving at 18:30. The return flights will depart Hong Kong at 10:55, arriving in Taipei at 12:30 or departing Hong Kong at 19:45 arriving at 21:30.
This will cause even more competition on this route, Starlux will be the 7th operator on this route, which is already operated by Cathay Pacific, Hong Kong Express, Hong Kong Airlines, Greater Bay Airlines, China Airlines and Eva Air.
I am still excited for this addition to the operators in Hong Kong – Starlux has long been on my list of airlines I want to test, and their business class looks awesome, even in the smaller Airbus A321 as seen above!
