HK Express Soars to Success: Hong Kong to Nha Trang Route Takes Off!

Yesterday, April 3, 2025, marked a big win for travel lovers as HK Express officially launched its direct route from Hong Kong (HKG) to Nha Trang, Vietnam (CXR). The low-cost carrier has hit the ground running—or rather, the skies soaring—with the only nonstop service connecting these two vibrant cities. After months of buzz, the route’s debut has travelers buzzing with excitement, and early reports suggest it’s already a hit. If you’re dreaming of turquoise waters and sandy shores, HK Express has just made your next getaway a whole lot easier.

A Smooth Takeoff to Nha Trang

The inaugural flight took off right on schedule at 18:50 (6:50 PM) from Hong Kong International Airport, touching down at Cam Ranh International Airport at 20:10 (8:10 PM) local time. The return leg lifted off from Nha Trang at 20:55 (8:55 PM) and landed back in Hong Kong at 00:25 (12:25 AM) today, April 4th. Clocking in at just over 2 hours and 15 minutes each way, this quick hop on an Airbus A321 (with 236 seats) is a game-changer for anyone itching to swap Hong Kong’s skyline for Nha Trang’s beaches.

The route runs four times a week—Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays—giving you plenty of flexibility to plan a long weekend or a full-on coastal escape. HK Express also rolled out their slick “open jaw” option, letting you fly into Nha Trang and out from another Vietnamese spot like Hanoi or Da Nang on a single ticket. It’s a brilliant perk for adventurers looking to explore more of Vietnam’s charm.

Nha Trang itself is a stunner on Vietnam’s central coast, known for its postcard-perfect beaches, dive-worthy coral reefs, and laid-back vibe. From the ancient Po Nagar Cham Towers to the bustling Dam Market, it’s got culture and flavor in spades. Travelers on yesterday’s flight were already raving about the seamless journey and the promise of Nha Trang’s sunny shores—especially with spring’s dry season (February to May) in full swing.

This launch isn’t just a one-off win—it’s HK Express’s fourth touchdown in Vietnam, rounding out a network that’s now a powerhouse for budget-friendly travel. Here’s the latest on their Vietnam flights from Hong Kong as of April 2025:

Flying Far and Wide from Hong Kong

HK Express’s reach doesn’t stop at Vietnam. Their Hong Kong hub is a launchpad to Asia’s hottest spots, and the Nha Trang route just adds to their impressive lineup. Here’s the breakdown of their weekly flights to other countries as of April 2025, including recent additions like Sendai:

  • Japan: 136 weekly flights (e.g., 42 to Tokyo-Narita, 14 to Tokyo-Haneda with 2 daily, 14 to Osaka-Kansai, 10 to Fukuoka, 4 to Sendai with 4 weekly, plus others like Ishigaki at 4 weekly)
  • South Korea: 28 weekly flights (e.g., 21 to Seoul-Incheon, 7 to Busan)
  • Thailand: 42 weekly flights (e.g., 14 to Bangkok-Don Mueang with 2 daily, 14 to Bangkok-Suvarnabhumi with 2 daily, 14 to Phuket, 7 to Chiang Mai)
