On May 29, 2025, HK Express officially launched its new direct route from Hong Kong to Yiwu, Zhejiang Province, and it’s already making waves for travelers eyeing this trade and tourism hotspot. The thrice-weekly service—running Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays—connects Hong Kong to Yiwu, home of the Yiwu International Trade City, the world’s largest wholesale market. I’ve been eager to see this route take off, and now that it’s here, it’s the perfect time to share what it means for travelers like us.
The flights are set with a practical schedule: Flight UO212 departs Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) at 2:10 PM, landing at Yiwu Airport (YIW) by 4:20 PM after a quick two-hour hop. The return, Flight UO213, leaves Yiwu at 5:05 PM and arrives in Hong Kong at 7:35 PM. Early reports from the inaugural flight suggest it’s been smooth sailing, with travelers praising the convenience for business trips and quick getaways. Yiwu isn’t just a trade hub—its cultural spots like Fotang Town, Jiming Pavilion, and nearby Hengdian World Studios (aka “China’s Hollywood”) make it a unique destination for explorers too.

This new route adds to HK Express’s growing network in mainland China, which already includes several key cities. Here’s the current lineup with their schedules:
- Beijing Daxing (PKX) – Daily flights.
- Changzhou (CSX) – Three weekly flights (Wednesdays, Fridays, Sundays), launched May 23, 2025.
- Ningbo (NGB) – Daily flights.
- Sanya (SYX) – 3-4 weekly flights (varies seasonally).
- Yiwu (YIW) – Three weekly flights (Mondays, Thursdays, Saturdays), launched May 29, 2025.
With Changzhou and now Yiwu in the mix, HK Express is clearly doubling down on the Yangtze River Delta, making it easier to reach economic and cultural hubs in the region. Tickets are available on their website or app, and I’d recommend booking soon if you’re planning a visit to Yiwu’s bustling markets.
I’ve flown with HK Express a few times myself, hitting their Tokyo, Clark, and Da Nang routes, and they’ve consistently delivered a reliable, no-frills experience. My trip to Da Nang was a highlight—on-time departure and a smooth ride, which I detailed in a review on my blog. I’ve got more HK Express reviews coming soon, so stay tuned as I explore their expanding network, including a potential trip to Yiwu to check out this new route firsthand!
If you’re a business traveler sourcing products, a deal hunter, or just curious about Yiwu’s unique blend of trade and culture, this route is a game-changer. Have you flown it yet? Let me know your thoughts—I’m excited to hear how it’s working out!
