Korean low-cost carrier Eastar Jet has started a new daily service between Hong Kong (HKG) and Busan Gimhae (PUS), with the first flight operating on 25 October 2026. It is Eastar Jet’s second Hong Kong route after Incheon–Hong Kong, and it adds another overnight nonstop option on a city pair that already sees HK Express and T’way Air.

Cathay Pacific has opened bookings for a new Hong Kong–Almaty route, with the first flight set for 9 January 2027. It will be Cathay’s first destination in Central Asia, and for now the only direct passenger link between Hong Kong and Kazakhstan — which is the part that actually matters if you have been looking at Central Asia from HKG and hitting a wall of connections.
Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPA / 9G) is the new Vietnamese full-service carrier from Sun Group, and it has moved quickly onto Hong Kong. The Phu Quoc link has been running since 22 May 2026 and went twice daily from 5 October; a daily Hanoi service followed on 30 September. For anyone who still thinks of Vietnam–Hong Kong as Vietnam Airlines, VietJet, or the Hong Kong carriers only, there is now another metal to check.
Vietjet is making its first appearance at Clark International Airport (CRK), with a new thrice-weekly service to Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) starting 10 November 2026. For anyone based around Clark, Angeles, or further up through Central and Northern Luzon, that is a proper shortcut — Ho Chi Minh City without the Manila detour.
