September 28 Hong Kong Airlines launched a 3-times-a-week service (rumored to be a seasonal charter flight) between Hong Kong and Koror in Palau. So far this route has only been operated by Cambodia Airways, so this is a nice addition, although I am not sure how long the router will last for or how easy it is to book – I have tried and failed 😀
Anyways, ever since a very good friend of mine went to Koror in 2019, I have also wanted to go, as it sounds like an amazing place, and hopefully somewhere there are not too many tourists. The Hong Kong Airlines flights leaves Hong Kong at 13:15 and arrives at 18:15 at Airai International, and the return leaves at 19:00 and arrives at 22:00, which would give me 48 hours to explore if I went on my days off.
To explore a place like this was always one of my main reasons for moving to Hong Kong, and I have in the past had a few similar trips where I have explored Saipan in Northern Mariana Island, Phu Quoc and Da Nang in Vietnam and Tokyo in Japan. I guess my resolution for next year should be to explore more places again….
