Greater Bay Airlines autumn flash sale from Hong Kong — 8折 returns, and an HKD30 mainland one-way

Greater Bay Airlines put out a short autumn flash sale on 16 October, and if you are still hunting a last-minute hop out of Hong Kong it is worth a look before it closes. Booking is open through 21 October 2026. The round-trip discount is 8折 / 20% off on designated economy seats, with Super Economy (超經艙) also in the mix on Tokyo and Sapporo. Travel for those returns is generally through 17 November 2026 — not a long window, so the dates that still show inventory are already fairly sparse.

Economy round-trips from HKG in the sale: Zhoushan, Chongqing, Kunming, Taipei, Bangkok, Tokyo, Osaka, Sapporo, Fukuoka and Okinawa. Super Economy: Tokyo and Sapporo only, as far as the Chinese press notes go.

There is a second, noisier headline sitting next to the 8折: one-way economy base fares as low as HKD30 to Kunming and Chongqing. That number is the base fare only — fuel surcharge, taxes and other fees sit on top, so the all-in price is not HKD30, and limited seats means “sold out when gone” is not marketing fluff here. U Travel puts the HKD30 travel window at 20–23 October 2026, still inside the same booking deadline of 21 October.

I will be honest about the mainland bit, because GBA’s own seasonal schedules make that HKD30 offer a bit awkward. Chongqing was announced as a seasonal HKG–CKG service running only to 16 October 2026 (HB868/869, Mon/Wed/Fri). The HKD30 travel dates of 20–23 October sit after that published end date, so I would not bank on finding a Chongqing seat in that window unless something has been extended and is still showing on the booking engine. Kunming runs longer — through 22 October on Tue/Thu/Sun — so inside 20–23 October the realistic days are Tuesday the 20th and Thursday the 22nd, if anything is left. Check the site; do not trust the headline alone.

For Japan, MeetHK had some sample round-trip all-in figures after the 8折 (taxes included, and they say 20kg checked bag is in the fare), in the ballpark of Fukuoka from about HKD1.768, Okinawa HKD1.844, Tokyo HKD1.879, Osaka HKD2.002 and Sapporo HKD2.274. Those move, and the usable outbound/return combinations are not many — ticket validity was quoted as 2–7 days — so treat them as a sense of the level rather than a guarantee for your dates.

How to book, in practice: go through the Greater Bay Airlines website or app, claim the autumn flash coupon from their coupon centre first, then when you get to the passenger-details step use 「添加優惠券」 to attach it. It is not the search-page promo-code box (that one will just sit there looking confused). Bastille Post and U Travel both flag that coupons and sale seats are limited.

Overall, a short, last-minute HKG sale with a real 8折 on a useful list of short-haul cities, and a mainland HKD30 teaser that needs the seasonal schedule caveats above. If Japan or Taipei or Bangkok fits your calendar before mid-November, have a look before 21 October — and if you were only coming for the HKD30 Chongqing line, manage expectations.
