Flying Blue – the frequent flyer program of KLM and Air France has just launched their new Mystery Promotion.
In this promotion you must log in, and you will be able to buy Flying Blue with an up to 75% bonus. It seems like it is mostly elite members who get the biggest bonus, as a basic level member I was only offered a 50% bonus on my purchased miles.
As you can see from above, I would be able to buy a total of 75000 miles with a 37500 miles bonus, making it a total of 112.500 miles, and it would have cost me 2062 Euros. This makes the price for each mile almost 0.02 euros, which I personally find to be too much, unless you have a specific use in mind, or you need some extra miles to get the award ticket you want. However, there are some pretty good deals in economy class with Flying Blue, you can fly one way from Hong Kong to almost anywhere in Europe or the US for less than 35.000 miles, and even South America for 45.000
If you are lucky enough to be targeted for the 75% bonus it might be worth taking advantage of this deal, specially if you are based in Europe or the US, as transatlantic award tickets seems to be a sweet spot here, with business class tickets costing just above 50.000 miles, meaning you can get a return business class ticket for around 1900 Euros. Not the best deal out there, but still not bad.

Bonus Miles will be rewarded on transactions made between 15 July and 11 August 2019, 23:59 CET +1, and will be credited to the recipient’s account when the transaction is complete.
During the promotional period, Elite members can receive a maximum bonus of 100,000 Miles. Elite members may purchase an unlimited number of base Miles annually, while Explorer members may only purchase or receive up to 75,000 Miles in any calendar year, unless a promotion is active in which case it is possible to receive bonus Miles on top of the 75,000 Miles. Miles are sold in units of 2,000 Miles.
Miles are sold to you by Points Inc. Miles will be deposited into your account within 72 hours of purchase. You have the right to withdraw your purchase within 14 days as provided in the Buy and Gift Miles Program Terms and Conditions.
