Review – Emirates Boeing 777ER Oslo – Dubai business class

With the Radisson Blu just across the street from the terminal it was a quick walk to the terminal, and another 5 minutes walk to the check-in area as it was (of course) located at the far end of the terminal. Check-in itself was quick, and we just narrowly managed to put our jackets and winter shoes in the suitcases before they were sent off. From here we had fast-track for security (which I found to be the rudest I have encountered in my travels so far), and then we had time for a quick drink at Starbucks before heading to immigration. Oslo Airport is apparently not built for international travels, and the line at immigration was huge, it probably took us 90 minutes to get through – I am glad we were early for our flight!

Review – Cathay Pacific Airbus A35K Manila – Hong Kong Business Class

This was a trip I had to make because I had business to take care of in Manila, so I had flown in to Manila with Cebu Pacific, and for the return flight I used my Qmiles (from Qatar Airways) to book a flight with Cathay Pacific from Manila to Hong Kong.

Review – Air Asia A320 Bangkok Don Muang – Hong Kong

Boarding was about 30 minutes delayed, and the gate area was very crowded, but again I was offered the priority boarding, as I had paid for a priority seat (emergency exit).

Review – Air Asia A320 Hong Kong – Bangkok Don Muang

I checked in for the flight online as I was only travelling with hand luggage, and as I finished the nightshift in the morning I headed straight for immigration and was in the transit area of the airport within minutes of finishing work.

My flight departed from gate 206, so I had to take the train between the main terminal and the midfield concourse. I arrived at the midfield terminal with about an hour to spare, so I grabbed a quick breakfast and a coffee from Starbucks before heading to my gate.

Review – Vietjet A320 Phu Quoc – Hong Kong.

I checked out of my room at 0915 for my 0930 airport transfer as per the letter I had gotten the day before in my bungalow. However, after I had checked out I was told my transfer was only at 10 am instead, so I had to hang around the reception for 30 minutes waiting for my complimentary airport transfer.

Review, Cathay Pacific Airbus A330-300 Bangkok – Hong Kong economy

Boarding was already starting when I arrived at the gate, and as the flight was no more than 30% full there was no queue for boarding, so I was able to proceed directly to my seat.

When I did the online check-in one day before departure, I was more interested in finding an empty part of the cabin, so I assigned myself seat 72A if I remember correctly, almost in the rear of the plane. From experience I like the seats in this area of the airplane, the fuselage is starting to narrow here, and the seat configuration goes from 2-4-2 to 2-3-2, so there is more space between the seats, and as the fuselage is not straight here, the seats are places a bit further from the windows, so the A-seats have more space than in the rest of the plane.

2020 look-ahead

As I have just completed my 2019 review, I am realizing how far behind I am in my collecting of memories of my travels last year, so this year I will really try to speed up the posting.

The Shells Spa and Resort, Phu Quoc

Although I have been able to complete some of the posts I was planning to, I see that the job ahead of me is quite tremendous, as I am just starting to realize how much time it takes to just make one post. Good thing is that I don’t have a lot of travels planned in the coming month, so I should have some time to try to get up to speed…

Doha – Stockholm with Qatar Airways Airbus A359 business class

After we had completed a quick breakfast in the lounge, we headed over to our gate, and boarding started soon after we had arrived at the gate.

For this flight we were allocated seats 4, 5 and 6A, again getting window seats, and we were seated just behind each other.
