Stopover in Doha

This was the part of the trip that I was dreading the most – a 11 hour stop-over in Doha. On the way to Norway we were given a free hotel stay for our 8.5 hours stop-over, however, on this trip they did not, as they said we could have traveled with a shorter connection time in Doha. That might be true, but in that case we would have had a 10 hour stop-over with no lounge access in Copenhagen instead, which would have been even worse in my opinion.

Our semi-private room during the stop-over.

When I was in Macau in December I made enough points with Sands rewards to get a free night stay with their group again, and this time I decided I would try the Venetian, but I was advised it was not available, but they would offer me the Conrad hotel in Cotai, Macau instead.

Copenhagen – Doha with Qatar Airways Boeing 777 ‘old’ business class

So this was the most disappointing part of the trip, when I made the booking the flight showed with Q-suites, but about 2 weeks before departure I got an email saying there has been change of equipment, and looking at the seat map I realized we were to fly in a Boeing 777 with the ‘old’ business class.

The kids enjoyed anyways 😀

2020 look-ahead

As I have just completed my 2019 review, I am realizing how far behind I am in my collecting of memories of my travels last year, so this year I will really try to speed up the posting.

The Shells Spa and Resort, Phu Quoc

Although I have been able to complete some of the posts I was planning to, I see that the job ahead of me is quite tremendous, as I am just starting to realize how much time it takes to just make one post. Good thing is that I don’t have a lot of travels planned in the coming month, so I should have some time to try to get up to speed…

Sunset in Phu Quoc

As the last sunset of 2019 has taken place, it is time to summarize the last years adventures.

After my move to Hong Kong in September 2018 and me finishing my On The job Training in January 2019 I have again been attacked by the travel bug, and I did spend a lot of time traveling, but not as much to new places as I had wanted to – with my kids living in the Philippines I spend most of my time off visiting them, but there has also been time for a few trips to other places.
