This was the part of the trip that I was dreading the most – a 11 hour stop-over in Doha. On the way to Norway we were given a free hotel stay for our 8.5 hours stop-over, however, on this trip they did not, as they said we could have traveled with a shorter connection time in Doha. That might be true, but in that case we would have had a 10 hour stop-over with no lounge access in Copenhagen instead, which would have been even worse in my opinion.

After arriving in Doha we quickly proceeded through security check, and then headed to Burger King for dinner, before finding our way back to the lounge, where we had stopped for breakfast on the way to Norway.
As you enter the lounge, if you turn left and walk all the way to the end of the lounge, there is a sandwich bar, and on the side of that there is a small toddles playroom, and then there are about 15 semiprivate lounge areas. We headed straight for one of those, and were lucky enough to find an empty one, which we occupied for our entire stay in Doha 😀
The semi-private rooms consist of a large three-seater sofa, three chairs, table and your own TV, as well as power outlets for your electronics needs. There is also a self-service drinks area, where you can get coffee and tea, softdrinks and water, and some light snacks as well.
The kids spent most of the time in the lounge watching their Ipads, and we also did manage to get quite a few rounds of Monopoly in, in addition to drinking lots of softdrinks and eating snacks 😀
Time did actually pass quickly here, and as the kids did not want to be left alone I was not able to make a review of more of the lounge this time, will keep that for when I am traveling alone.
Around midnight we left the lounge, and headed to Burger King again to stock up on burgers and nuggets before our long flight on to Clark.
Boarding was from the gate furthest away from the food court, so it took us a good 20 minutes to get there, by which time the kids were getting very sleepy and grumpy – it had been a long day of traveling so far, and they didn’t have any sleep yet, they had been to busy enjoying unlimited games, movies and Ipad 😀
As business class passengers we were last to board (there were no business class busses available), and this lead us to having to wait an additional 40 minutes or so before boarding, which was really bad timing, traveling alone with two small kids and a bit of hand-carry baggage…
Just as boarding was about to start for our last leg of the trip, Marcus fell asleep waiting to board, and had to be carried to the bus that would take us to the remote stand where the airplane was parked.
