Coming back?

It has now been about a year since I had the energy to make a post on this blog. The point of this blog was to be a happy place where I saved my travel memories and documented the growth of air traffic in Hong Kong while I was working and living here.

Introduction – 2 nights to re-discover Bangkok

Bangkok has ever since the first time I visited it been my favourite city in the world. It truly is a city that never sleeps, there is always something to see or to do, no matter where in the city you are, or what time it is.

I have probably spent about 7 months in Bangkok before, I used to travel 4-5 times per year in the mid 2000s, but I have not had much time to go there after my children were born.

Introduction – 48 hours in Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands

Ever since I landed my job in Hong Kong almost 2 years ago I was getting excited about the traveling oportunities from here. There are so many places available within a short distance of flying, and so many places to explore and discover.

Introduction – A sudden trip to Pattaya, Thailand

I had leave planned for a couple of days, so I was booked to go and see the kids in the Philippines for 6 days, however, with the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak, Philippines has temporarily banned anyone traveling from Hong Kong to enter the country. As most things in Hong Kong are closed nowdays I needed a new plan for my 6 days off, and booked a last minute trip to Bangkok with Cathay Pacific, and from there transport to Pattaya which several of my firends have recommended. Introduction – Christmas in Norway 2019

We had already spent summer holiday in Norway this year (trip report here), and since it is far and expensive to travel there I was just planning on bringing the kids to Hong Kong for Christmas. However, I did put my leave dates into google flights and kept an eye on the price, and when I found some surprisingly cheap tickets with Emirates in business class I decided to bring them to Norway for Christmas, and hopefully see some snow :

Introduction -36 hours in Phu Quoc, Vietnam

My bungalow for the stay in Phu Quoc

One place that has been high on my list of places to go has been Phu Quoc, Vietnam, ever since the first time I saw a VietJet flying in from there to Hong Kong. I consider myself fairly well traveled in Southeast Asia, but I had never heard about this island before, so I quickly had to google it and the more I read the more interested I got in going there.

Introduction – Trip report – Hong Kong – Clark – Doha – Stockholm – Oslo Gardermoen // Sandefjord Torp – Copenhagen – Doha – Clark – Hong Kong

Qatar Airways Boeing 777 old business class

So, summer holidays are finished for me, and I will make my first attempt at writing a trip report. I will honestly admit that I was a bit too busy with my two small kids during the trip, so there are a lot of photos missing, but it also means I have a lot of space to improve to the next trip.
