Introduction – 2 nights to re-discover Bangkok

Bangkok has ever since the first time I visited it been my favourite city in the world. It truly is a city that never sleeps, there is always something to see or to do, no matter where in the city you are, or what time it is.

I have probably spent about 7 months in Bangkok before, I used to travel 4-5 times per year in the mid 2000s, but I have not had much time to go there after my children were born.

I was therefore exited to have a quick holiday and go back to try to rediscover some of Bangkok for 3 days when I had some time off. I booked a flight with AirAsia from Hong Kong to Don Muang airport, leaving on November 17, 2019 at 10:45, and returning on November 19 at 17:55. The cost for the ticket was 1062 HKD, including emergency seat selection. I also booked 2 nights at the Ambassador Hotel, Sukhumvit Soi 11 for 1102 HKD for 2 nights. My regular hotel in the past had been Federal hotel, which was just across the street from Ambassador, but it does not exist any more, so that’s the reason for choosing the Ambassador instead.

Unfortunately, my holiday was not going to get as good as I hoped, as two days before departure I as starting to get a severe pain in my right shoulder, and by the time I was ready to travel I could hardly move my right shoulder at all…
