Hong Kong to place around 150 buildings in lockdown.

The Hong Kong Government has announced that effective midnight tonight they are putting around 150 buildings in the Yau Tsim Mong district under lockdown.

The affected area, between Jordan Road, Nathan Road, Kansu street and Ferry street. The number on each building indicates number of cases is the last 2 weeks.

This is the first time a lockdown will be in force in Hong Kong due to COVID-19. This will affect somewhere between 5 and 9000 residents. From what I understand, all residents in those buildings will be subject to mandatory testing for the virus, and only those with a negative result will be allowed to leave their building, but none will be allowed to leave the area. The exception to this will be residents with medical needs or those who face undue hardship. Also, only residents, relatives of those in need of care and staff members will be allowed to enter the area.
