HK Express Launches New Hong Kong to Yiwu Route: A Gateway to Trade and Travel

Starting May 29, 2025, HK Express is set to connect Hong Kong with Yiwu, Zhejiang Province, via a brand-new direct route. This thrice-weekly service—operating Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays—links Hong Kong to one of eastern China’s most dynamic commercial hubs, home to the Yiwu International Trade City, the world’s largest wholesale market. Whether you’re a business traveler, logistics professional, or a curious explorer, this route opens up fresh opportunities.

The flight details are locked in: Flight UO212 takes off from Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) at 2:10 PM, landing at Yiwu Airport (YIW) by 4:20 PM after a swift two-hour journey. The return leg, Flight UO213, departs Yiwu at 5:05 PM and touches down in Hong Kong at 7:35 PM. It’s a convenient schedule for quick trips or extended stays in a city that’s a powerhouse in global supply chains.

But Yiwu isn’t just about business. Beyond its sprawling markets, the city offers cultural gems like the ancient Fotang Town and the scenic Jiming Pavilion. Plus, it’s a stone’s throw from Hengdian World Studios, often called “China’s Hollywood,” making it a quirky draw for film buffs. This route isn’t just a flight—it’s a bridge to a unique blend of trade and tourism.

HK Express’s move reflects a broader push to connect Hong Kong with mainland China’s secondary cities. This Yiwu addition joins their growing network, which already serves several key destinations across the mainland. Here’s a rundown of HK Express’s current routes to mainland China, with their schedules:

  • Beijing Daxing (PKX) – Daily flights.
  • Changzhou (CSX) – Three weekly flights (Wednesdays, Fridays, Sundays), launching May 23, 2025.
  • Ningbo (NGB) – Daily flights.
  • Sanya (SYX) – 3-4 weekly flights (varies seasonally).
  • Yiwu (YIW) – Three weekly flights (Mondays, Thursdays, Saturdays), launching May 29, 2025.

These routes highlight HK Express’s focus on enhancing connectivity to economic and cultural hubs, with upcoming additions like Changzhou and Yiwu strengthening ties to the Yangtze River Delta region. Tickets for all routes, including the new Yiwu service, are available through the HK Express website or app, so you can start planning your trip now.

I’ve flown with HK Express a few times myself, hitting their Tokyo, Clark, and Da Nang routes, and it’s always been a reliable experience for the price. My quick jaunt to Da Nang stood out for their on-time departure and fuss-free service—you can read that full review on my blog. I’ve got more HK Express flight reviews coming soon, so keep an eye out as I dive deeper into their network!

Whether you’re sourcing products, chasing deals, or exploring a lesser-known slice of China, this network has something for you. Keep an eye on HK Express for updates—and maybe pack light for those wholesale hauls
