Having completed 21 days quarantine stay at 4 Points by Sheraton in Tung Chung a couple of months earlier, I decided to book 4 nights at this hotel to finally get some status with Marriott. I only needed 4 more nights to become a gold member – not the biggest deal in the world, but some status is always better than none 😀
I booked the room online through the Marriott Bonvoy app, and I booked a “One queen bed, garden view” room for 5.625 HKD total for 4 nights. This is also the room I was given an check-in, so no upgrade to a harbour view room for me. Picture below is from the harbour view side of the hotel though, where I would go to live next year, but that is a different story.

As I was only a silver member at the time, breakfast was not included, and I opted to eat other places than the hotel, so this review will be of the room itself only. I was allocated, if I remember correctly, a room on the 29th floor. The corridors were well lit and looked fairly new and inviting.

As I entered the room, there was a bathroom to the left, and a standard wardrobe on the right, before entering the room itself, which featured a large, queen sized bed, a comfortable chair by the window, an office desk with a chari, and a big screen TV.

Next to the bed there was a very comfortable chair by the window, with it’s own reading light.

The windows offered views of the swimming pool, garden and tennis courts at the 3rd(?) floor, as well as part of the Hong Kong skyline – and between the buildings you could see a bit of the harbour as well.

Then there was an office desk with a decent chair.

In front of the bed there was a big screen TV.

Next to the TV there was an empty minibar, bottels of complementary water, a kettle and a tea set

There was, however, a price list for the minibar, and a message saying I could just call room service and they would stock it with what I needed – fair enough I guess.

At this point my doorbell rang, and I was given a welcome letter from the hotel, as well as a fresh fruit platter. I must say I was impressed, as I did not expect anything for just being a silver member.

On the other side of the bed, there was also a big glass window, from which you could see directly into the bathroom. I guess it is more ment for use in the opposite direction, as that gives a lot of natural light in the bathroom, and makes the room feel bigger.

In the small hall as you enter the room there was a standard wardrobe, plenty of high quality hangers, a safe and ironing board and iron, as well as very comfortable bathrobes.

In the bathroom there was a large sink in front of the window, which offered lots of natural light, and a nice shower and a toilet, both of which were also facing the window, so you could enjoy the view while doing your business there.

Also in the shower there were one time use shampoo, conditioner and shower gel, which I appreciate – I am not a fan of the multi-use bottels that are becoming more and more popular in hotels.

There were also a large full size mirror in the bathroom, as well as a smaller, side-lit mirror next to the sink.

As mentioned, the sink area offered great views (of the bed) and further through the windows.

Overall the room was very nice, staff friendly and the hotel has a great location. I enjoyed my stay there, and even made friends with a couple of awesome guys who were long term residents there, and hearing what they paid on a monthly basis I actually also became a long term resident there just a couple of months later! More about that in another blog post at some later stage 😀
