The visit to this lounge was part of a 5 night trip I made to Bangkok to visit my parents there. I had booked an award ticket in Business Class with Cathay Pacific for 12.000 miles if I remember correctly, which allowed me lounge access. As my flight was leaving from Gate 40, I choose to use The Pier Business Class lounge, as it is not too far from the gate.
There are two ‘The Pier’ lounges at HKIA, one for first class passengers near gate 63, and one for business class passengers near gate 65, make sure you go to the correct one 😀

The lounge is located down a flight of escalators, and I was greeted by some very friendly attendants, who scanned my boarding pass and show me in to the lounge.
The lounge is very spacious, and devided into several different areas. The first area you arrive in is the main eatery. I arrived around 10 in the morning, so there was a spread of breakfast available, with a few made-to-order items too. Each section has it’s own sitting area, as well as a divider and another sitting area behind that, with views to the apron.

There was also a separate coffe station here, where you can order several different freshly made coffees, but I didn’t get a picture of that.
The next room was the bar, which also had a sitting area, as well as a nice selection of both alocholig and non-alcoholic options.

The next room was a noodle room, and after that a tea-room, which all offered dine on demand menus you could order from. There were plenty of seating, and not a lot of people, giving of a calm and quiet atmosphere.

Then after this there were a shower room and a bathroom, but for obvoius reasons, no picture of those facilities 😀
After exploring those areas, I headed back to the main dining room, got my breakfast there, and then to the bar for a couple of glasses of Champagne (it was after 10 am after all), as well as a coffee and a glass of orange juice.

There were also a few drink stations throughout the lounge, so you never had to walk far for something to drink if you wanted something (the lounge is huge, and quite a bit of a walk from one end to the other.)

The seats throughout the lounge were all very comfortable looking, and those I tried lived up to my expectations.

And finally there were a business centre in the lounge, with several pc’s and printers available for those who’d want to get some work in while waiting for their flight.

After having spent around an hour at the lounge, my boarding time was approaching, so I thanked the attendants for a very pleasant stay, and wandered off to my flight (and some more Champagne….)
