Emirates changes their minds, will now keep a few destinations open

As I wrote about yesterday, Emirates announced that they are suspending all passenger flights effective March 25, 2020.

Emirates is now backtracking on this decision , and will now continue to operate flights to 13 destinations/countries.

Review, Discovery Beach Hotel, Pattaya, Thailand

The driver dropped me off outside the main entrance of the hotel just before 2 pm, and there was a bellboy there to carry the suitcases inside for me. Arriving at the reception I was the only customer there, and the receptionist completed the check-in formalities and then asked me to take a seat while she would try to locate an available room for me.

Christmas holiday in Norway

So after clearing Immigration and getting our bags, we headed in the direction of Hertz to collect the Rav 4 I had booked. Upon arriving at the counter they offered me an upgrade to a Tesla Model S instead, for the price of 200 NOK per day. Considering it would give me free parking, free recharging and avoid paying the toll fees on the highways I decided to take it – it basically cost me nothing extra considering the extras that are included.

Review, Cathay Pacific Airbus A359 Hong Kong – Bangkok economy

For once I was travelling with check-in baggage as I actually had a 6 days holiday coming up, and I was planning to stock up on some new clothes in Thailand as shopping there is really great.

I was working nightshift the night before my flight, so I decided to take advantage of Cathays 24-hour in advance check-in, and brought my suitcase with me to the airport before start of the shift. Check-in was done in 2 minutes, and very easy and efficient.

Hong Kong extends code red travel alert, all arrivals from foreign countries to be placed under home quarantine.

It might not come as a surprise to many, and now it has been confirmed. Effective Thursday, March 19th, all travellers arriving in Hong Kong from a foreign country will be placed under home quarantine.

In the last week there has been 50 new cases of COVID19 in Hong Kong, but only 7 of those were locally infected, the rest were imported cases.

The new restrictions will not apply to arrivals from mainland China, Macau or Taiwan.

Health declaration form for arriving in Hong Kong

A few days ago it became mandatory to submit a health declaration form if Hong Kong is your final destination, and for transit passengers who have started their journey in South Korea or mainland China. The form is very simple to fill out online, and can be accessed here.
