The Air Transport Licensing Authority has said they are satisfied that Hong Kong Airlines had met the two conditions set down five days ago in order to continue their operations in Hong Kong.
The Authority however remained concerned about the financial situation of the company, and I belive they will still be closely monitored, however, there has been no new conditions laid down from the ATLA, so the airline seems safe for now.
It was reported earlier the parent company of Hong Kong Airlines had secured a 4.4 billion HKD loan from chinese banks, so it might have been those money that has been pumped into the company to keep it alive, but that is not confirmed yet.
I guess we will see a lot of re-structuring from the company in the next few months, it is clear that their business model has not been successful, and with the current situation in Hong Kong I am sure they will struggle even more.
Hong Kong Airlines has already decided to cancel all their long haul routes to the US and Canada, as well sa their operations to Ho Chi Minh City and Tianjin, and I am sure there will be more changes soon.
