Philippine Airlines to start Clark – Hong Kong flights.

I did not see this coming (at least not as the first airline to (re)-start this route, but Philippine Airlines will start operating Clark – Hong Kong three times weekly from December 9th. This is the first time (to my knowledge) that they will be operating this route. Pre-covid it was operated twice daily by Cebu Pacific and once daily by Dragonair, so I am sure the demand it there.

The route will be operated by an Airbus A321 with 199 seats, and features both economy and business class. Unfortunately the timings doesn’t work for me personally (I used to travel the route 3 times a month, and now I am doing that via Manila instead), the schedule is as follows:

  • Clark to Hong Kong, every Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday at 2 PM
  • Hong Kong to Clark, every Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday at 5 PM.

Operating this route only three times a week is also a bit interesting, I am sure it will be in demand, and hopefully they will go to daily flights with a much earlier departure time.

On a side-note, as I am also taking an interest in Clark International Airport, PAL is at the same time starting two other international routes:

  • Clark – Seoul. Daily from November 11. Leaving Clark at 01:05, returning from Seoul at 07:00
  • Clark – Busan. 4 times a week from November 10. Leaving Clark every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday at 13:50, returning at 19:45
