When I was in Macau in December I made enough points with Sands rewards to get a free night stay with their group again, and this time I decided I would try the Venetian, but I was advised it was not available, but they would offer me the Conrad hotel in Cotai, Macau instead.

As I have just completed my 2019 review, I am realizing how far behind I am in my collecting of memories of my travels last year, so this year I will really try to speed up the posting.

Although I have been able to complete some of the posts I was planning to, I see that the job ahead of me is quite tremendous, as I am just starting to realize how much time it takes to just make one post. Good thing is that I don’t have a lot of travels planned in the coming month, so I should have some time to try to get up to speed…

As I wrote about in my 1 night in Macau post a few weeks back, I have joined and earned quite a lot of points with Sands Rewards, and this has given me the possibility of free stays with the Sands Group in Macau. I therefore grabbed the chance for the free stay, and called the reservation hotline as soon as I was back from Macau, and asked for a night stay at the Venetian hotel. Unfortunately that was not available, but they offered me a choice between The Parisian of the Sheraon instead, and I then choose The Parisian, as it looks really impressive from the outside.

Qatar Airways offers a free stop-over with accommodation in Doha if your shortest connection time between flights is 8 hours or more. Our flight from Clark was supposed to arrive at 23:35 local time, and our flight to Stockholm the next morning was at 07:35, so I contacted Qatar Airways on Facebook Messenger and asked if they were offering us a free stop-over in Doha (I messaged them on the 6th of May.)

One place that has been high on my list of places to go has been Phu Quoc, Vietnam, ever since the first time I saw a VietJet flying in from there to Hong Kong. I consider myself fairly well traveled in Southeast Asia, but I had never heard about this island before, so I quickly had to google it and the more I read the more interested I got in going there.
